Byron is a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus and Carole is a member of the St. Augustine Guild. The Ruffers spent a week-long honeymoon in southern Ohio. Marilyn Ruffer is a retired teacher; her husband is a retired college president and museum director. The couple has three children, Rochelle Ruffer (husband Tom Kim) of Pittsford, N.Y.; Robyn Nelson (husband Mike) of Zionsville; and D. Geoffrey Ruffer (wife Andrea) of Zionsville. The couple also has six grandchildren. The Funkhousers were married Aug. 24, 1958, at Central Christian Church in Lebanon. Karen Funkhouser was employed at the Zionsville Post Office from 1967 to 1992. Her husband was employed by Zionsville Community Schools from 1959 to 1981, and by the Lebanon Post Office from 1982 to 1997. The open house will be hosted by the couple’s three children and seven grandchildren. Their children are: Debbie Trennepohl (husband Dean) of Monticello; Judy Pringle (husband Terry) of Chantilly, Va., and David Funkhouser (wife Denise) of Brownsburg.
