Arika Ballard, a fifth-grader at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary, flies down the zip line Friday afternoon, April 19, at the Boone County Home and Garden Show. The show was April 18 to 20 at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. It was Ballard’s first time on a zip line, and she said it was fun, although it gave her a wedgie. Attendance for the zip line was sparse Friday due to the frigid weather. Overall, Michelle Wiltermood of the Chamber said the show went well, although the weather put a damper on things.
