It started as an idea in Victoria Martine’s head and developed into a story that can be shared with all. “The 100 Dollar Sock,” Martine’s titled book, will be featured during an upcoming event with the Zionsville seventh grader and author at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library in Zionsville.

Martine recently shared the process of writing and publishing her first book with 17 interested youths during an initial appearance at the library. She will make a return appearance in the Youth Services area at the library at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28. Question and answer periods will follow each session.

Martine will sign copies of her children’s book, which will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Hogar Rafael Ayou Orphanage in Guatemala City.
