Williams appointed veteran's service officer

Dennis Williams, a Lebanon attorney and U.S. Air Force veteran, is Boone County's new veteran's service officer. Williams was appointed Monday, in a 2-1 vote by the Boone County Commissioners.

It was a difficult decision, Commissioner Marc Applegate said before moving to appoint Williams.

"I thought all three were very qualified," he said.

Commissioner Jeff Wolfe seconded the motion; he and Applegate voted yes. Commissioner Don Lawson voted no. Williams will provide veteran services from his office at 121 N. Meridian St., Lebanon, he said.
