Boone County Clerk Penny S. Bogan was awarded a lifetime achievement award at the Indiana Election Administrators Conference in Indianapolis recently.
Bogan began working in the clerk's office part time in 1984; within six months, she became the full-time order book clerk.
She was named first deputy clerk in 1999, holding that position until 2006, when she was elected to the first of her two terms as Boone County Clerk. State law prohibits clerks, and certain other county officials, from holding office for three consecutive terms.
Bogan was nominated by Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steven David, Superior Court II Judge Rebecca McClure, Treasurer Debbie Ottinger and county Election Deputy Andrew Wood.
