---- — A Lebanon teacher has been charged with stealing two laptop computers. John Isaac Sturgis, 34, 800 block of Clairborne Lane, Lebanon, was arrested and charged with two D felony counts of theft. A D felony carries a sentence of six months to three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines. He posted bond Monday, March 10, according to court records, and was ordered to appear for an initial hearing at 1 p.m. March 17 in Boone Superior Court I. A joint investigation by Lebanon School Police and the Lebanon Police Department led to the charges. Stanley Levko was named a special prosecutor in the case. “It’s a personnel matter,” Lebanon Superintendent Robert Taylor said. “It involves police and the prosecutor; we’re working with them, but other than that we have no comment at this time.” The Lebanon High School website lists Sturgis as a social studies teacher.
