Home and garden show kicks off Thursday

Lebanon — A new feature at the Boone County Home and Garden Show this year will hopefully draw a new and bigger crowd.

A portable zip-line will be set up from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds.

“We wanted to try to bring more of a crowd out for the exhibitors this year,” said Michelle Wiltermood, executive director of the Boone County Chamber of Commerce. “The zip-line was a big hit at the Super Bowl, and people have been really interested in this, so we thought we’d try it and see if it would help.”

Admission to the Home and Garden Show is free, but zip-line tickets are $5. They are limited to about 250 people. Tickets can be purchased at the chamber’s booth during the show on Friday.

The home and garden show runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the fairgrounds, in the Witham Pavilion and the commercial building. The theme is “Spring into Boone County.”
