Time to ride

Susan Endicott, on the motorcycle, and from left, Ada Hawkins, Lebanon Fire Chief Jason Lee and Rob Hickson, of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, pose with the 9/11 beam from the World Trade Center Thursday afternoon, Aug. 30, at the Lebanon Public Safety Building. The group is promoting the fourth annual Boone County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ride, formerly the Bob Hawkins Ride, on Sept. 8. Registration is from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and the ride starts at 11 a.m. from Lebanon Fire Station 11, 975 Lasley Drive. The ride will be more than 100 miles, and it will end at Lebanon VFW 910, where there will be a meal and a DJ. Cost is $25 per bike. Contact Hawkins at 765-894-7513 for more information.

Proceeds from the ride will benefit the 9/11 beam project in Lebanon. Also Thursday, Endicott donated a framed poster, which Lee holds, in memory of 9/11 to the Lebanon Fire Department.
