Levine family shares thoughts on 'Family Feud' experience

Lebanon — Now that the episode of Family Feud featuring Phil Levine, Lebanon High School athletic director, and his family has aired, Levine is able to share more information about the experience.

Levine and his wife, Shanna; sister, Debbie Snyder; and parents, Jerry and Judy Levine, were one of the two families competing on an episode of Family Feud that aired Monday night, Oct. 7. Levine and his family auditioned for the opportunity earlier this year, and were selected to compete, taping their episode in Atlanta in May.

The taping of the show took an hour, but it was edited down to about 22 minutes, Levine said. Many of the conversations were edited out for time.

When host Steve Harvey first walked out on stage, he went right over to the Levines to learn why they were all wearing clown noses. Levine’s father, Jerry, does clowning on the side as Popsicle the Clown. Harvey wanted to be a clown growing up, so he made a connection with Jerry. Producers kept that interaction and also when Harvey met Shanna, since she introduced herself as a “trophy wife.” She works at a trophy store, she explained. But the conversations between Harvey and Levine, his sister and his mother were cut out.
