---- — A Boone County Council public hearing on whether Boone County should increase a tax fund that has been tapped repeatedly this year was to be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 (after press time).
The Boone County Council has scheduled the hearing to get comments on whether to raise the cumulative capital development — CCD — fund.
Currently, the tax is 1.27 cents for every $100 of assessed valuation. The maximum allowed by state law is 3.3 cents per $100 of AV.
Money from the CCD fund can be used for many purposes beyond new buildings. Consultants from H.J. Umbaugh & Associates were to outline benefits and disadvantages of the CCD increase.
