Bring on the pork

More than 800 pounds of pork was consumed Saturday evening, Aug. 11, during the Fifth Annual Battle of the BBQ, benefiting the Boone County Cancer Society. The annual event drew a large crowd to Lebanon Memorial Park where nearly 40 teams competed with various types of barbecue. The team from Lawson Farms came out as the victors. More than $17,000 was raised and will stay in Boone County to provide support and aid to cancer patients and their families.
