Boone County gearing up for upcoming 2013 flu season

County employees needing flu shots may go to the Boone County Health Department for the vaccination, agency administrator Cindy Murphy, RN, said. For the first time, the health department will bill insurance companies, including Anthem, SIHO, Aetna, United Health Care and others, Murphy said. The agency will continue to bill Medicare and Medicaid for vaccinations. The health department has announced two flu clinics, with additional clinics to be scheduled. The first is from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Witham Health Services Pavilion at the Boone County Fairgrounds, 1900 E CR 100 S, Lebanon. The second is 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26, at Zionsville Fellowship Church, 9090 Oak St., Zionsville. Shots are also available from family doctors and at several area pharmacies. See Wednesday's Times Sentinel for the full story.
