The grant application process for the Boone County Convention and Visitors Bureau has been streamlined for next year to make it easier for the county’s festivals and events.
Executive Director Jeri Day said the CVB will go from a two-cycle grant process to just one cycle a year in 2013.
“We thought this would be easier for everyone,” she said.
Grant applications will now be due at the end of February, will be reviewed in March, and money will be distributed in April. Currently there are two grant cycles, one from January to March and another from April to June.
“We changed a few things up where it will be easier for the actual festivals and events,” Day said. “This way, they only have one cycle they have to remember. It won’t be so time consuming for the volunteers.”
