Another Christmas in the Village season brings many things — lights and greenery throughout town, a Christmas tree in the middle of Main Street and even a pool for when that tree will hit the bricks.
For the 12th year, The Wine Guy at Grapevine Cottage, 61 S. Main St., has his annual contest of guessing when the tree will be knocked over.
Grapevine owner Doug Pendleton said he began the tradition when he was at his old location just a few buildings down Main Street.
“The first time I saw (the tree) go up, I just thought it was an absurdity,” he said. “I thought it’d be fun to have a pool to see when people thought the tree would go down.”
