Boone REMC is sending five local high school students to Washington, D.C., for the annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.
Alexandrea Aguirre (Western Boone), Thomas Blackwell and Victoria Blackwell (Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School), Rachel Miller and Kristen Parks (Zionsville Community High School) will join hundreds of other students from around the country on an all-expenses-paid trip to the nation’s capitol this month.
The students will visit the Gettysburg National Military Park, Arlington National Cemetery, National Mall museums and other important sites in and around Washington D.C. The students will also meet with members of the Indiana congressional delegation.
“These students will visit some of the most important sites in the Washington, D.C., area. They will also meet with members of Congress on Capitol Hill and learn about the legislative process from a front row seat,” said John Wallace, Boone REMC’s director of communications and marketing.
