• Line Dancing and Couples Dance Night — 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, with instructor Teresa Russell. Cost is $6 per person. Light snacks will be available for purchase.

• Line Dancing — 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5 for beginners and 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for intermediates with instructor Teresa Russell. Cost is $6 per person.

• Ask the Advisor — Ask the Advisor financial assistance will be offered from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Vince Oelker and Rick Price from Bankers Life will answer questions regarding insurance, short and long term care, Medicare supplements and investments.



Village Homemakers Extension Club

Class of 1984 holds 25-year reunion

The ZCHS Class of 1984 will celebrate its 25-year class reunion Friday, Oct. 2 to Sunday, Oct. 4 during Zionsville’s Homecoming weekend.

Festivities start Friday, with the Homecoming football game, a school tour and gathering at The Friendly Tavern. Saturday will feature a golf outing at Shortee’s and reunion at 6 p.m at the Carolina Grill in Stonegate. Brunch is planned Sunday at Stone Creek Dining Company. tailgate party

Join us across from the ZCHS stadium by the main gym doors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 for a community tailgate party to celebrate homecoming. Come enjoy barbecue sandwiches, brats, homemade sweets and drinks. Proceeds will benefit instrumental music programs.



Pete Paddock Memorial Golf Outing

The fourth Annual Pete Paddock Memorial Golf Outing will take place Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Zionsville Golf Course.

Pete was a teacher and administrator in the Zionsville Community School system for 38 years and an avid golfer. Proceeds from the outing will be used to fund Charles “Pete” Paddock Scholarships which are awarded annually to one ZCHS senior athlete and one performing arts student.

The cost is $50 per person or $200 per foursome for nine holes or $90 per person or $360 per foursome for 18 holes. Entry fee includes golf, cart and lunch. Donation and sponsorship requests will be accepted at the Community Foundation.

Fire department plans breakfast

Zionsville Fire Department is having its annual Pancake Breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Fire Station 91, 100 N. Ford Road in Zionsville. Cost for the event is $6 for adults and $3 for children 2 and older.

Pancakes, sausage, orange juice, milk and Starbucks coffee will be served.

Hit the bricks

The Zionsville Optimist Club will have their 27th annual Hit the Bricks 5-mile run/3-mile fun run walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Zionsville Community High School. Pre-register online at www.tuxbro.com. There also will be race day registration between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. at the high school.

Town Hall Series announces speaker

The Zionsville Community Conversation Group presents the first speaker in their Town Hall Series. Dr. Mann Spitler will address the topic of addictions by sharing the sad events that led to the death of his daughter of a heroin overdose.

The program, which will also be presented during the school day to Zionsville Community High School students, will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the town hall.



ZCHS hosts Breast Cancer Brunch

The Zionsville Community High School Student Council is putting on their annual Breast Cancer Brunch at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the freshman center cafeteria. The event is free and all are invited and encouraged to bring a friend. A complementary breakfast will be served. Safe Sitter classes offered

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Zionsville is offering Safe Sitter Classes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24 (participants will be certified with just one class). Your child must be 11 to 13 years old (you cannot be 10 or 14) to attend these classes. Go to the East Club, 1575 Mulberry St., to sign up. The cost is $55 per person (checks should be made out to Nancy LaFon). There is a limited number of participants per class and we have to know by the Tuesday before each class.
