Learning Network upgrades Web site

Staff report

The Boone County Learning Network has launched a new Web site. The Web address, www.boonelearning.net, is the same, but the look and feel are different.

“It’s a lot easier to read,” said Audra Poe, executive director of BCLN. “Online payment and registration is much more user friendly.”

Poe said the learning network worked with the Lebanon business Rebound Sales and Marketing to come up with the more attractive and easy to use site.

Poe noted that the learning network is still a young organization, and that the updated Web site is a good step toward the organization’s goal of getting its name out in the community,

“It projects a positive image of our organization,” she said. “People who have gone there are very pleased.”

BCLN evolved to meet the need for continuing education, to enhance economic development of the county and strengthen the sense of community. BCLN became a reality in 2006 through a partnership between Purdue University, Boone County Government and the Community Foundation of Boone County. BCLN is 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization. Since its inception, BCLN has worked with more than 1,000 Boone County residents in the areas of life-long learning, workforce development and post-secondary education.

The learning network provides a variety of educational programs and opportunities for individuals looking toward a career as well as for those interested in taking a class for their own personal growth or satisfaction.

In addition to working with individuals, the BCLN provides affordable and accessible educational programs, courses and services that can be tailored to meet flexible business training needs, according to information provided by the learning network.

The mission of the Boone County Learning Network is to promote and coordinate post-secondary, life-long learning and workforce development opportunities for those who live and work in Boone County. For additional information call 733-8657 or 765-481-1250, or visit the Web site at www.boonelearning.net.
