---- — Weaver Popcorn Co. is planning to move its corporate headquarters from Noblesville to Whitestown, investing $18 million in the conversion of an existing building and bringing 90 new jobs to Boone County.

"It's a big coup," Bryan Brackemyre, executive director of the Boone County Economic Development Corp., told the Boone County Commissioners Monday, Feb. 3, in a "heads-up" notice. The company will move into the former ASI Ltd. building, 4485 S. Perry Worth Road.

The Whitestown Redevelopment Commission Monday unanimously approved offering Weaver a 10-year, 100-percent abatement on personal property tax. The equipment Weaver plans to install is valued at an estimated $15 million.

When abatement on the ASI building expires in two years, Weaver will be paying at least $250,000 in real estate tax, Brackemyre said.

"This is a project worth being aggressive for," Brackemyre told the RDC.
