After successfully reorganizing Eagle and Union townships with Zionsville, the town council is looking at reorganizing with another township.
Perry Township officials are exploring the idea of reorganizing with Zionsville to help save taxpayer money and — more importantly — protect themselves from unwanted annexation. The benefit for Zionsville would be something Town Council President Jeff Papa has been hearing for some time that Zionsville needs — a mayor.
Perry Township Trustee and Advisory Board met Tuesday night, April 15, to discuss pursuing the idea and held a first reading of the proposed plan at 9 a.m. Friday morning, April 18. The Zionsville Town Council will have a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 21. The two sides must have a plan approved by May 3 so the issue can appear on the November ballot.
