Zionsville — The Zionsville Fire Department showed their support by raising a ladder from one of the department’s trucks during the American Legion’s Veteran’s Day Ceremony Saturday, Nov. 10. A lone World War II-era plane, flying low over the Zionsville American Legion Post 79, opened the ceremony. The community was invited to participate and a crowd gathered in front of the post while veterans spoke about their wartime experiences and recent deployments.

“I know that just between two of the young men (who spoke), there are two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars and a Silver Star,” said Dianna Colvin, American Legion Auxiliary Secretary. “I’m sure there are more among them all.”
