Residents form new cub scout pack

There’s a new pack in town.

More than 100 scouts and adult leaders at Union Elementary School launched a new Cub Scout organization — Pack No. 105.

Tom Sugar, one of the founders of Pack No. 105, said the group was formed because the Zionsville pack was getting too large.

“There was one time when there was only one pack but the town has grown, and there are more interested students,” he said.

Before Pack No. 105 was organized, Pack 358 was approaching almost 500 scouts. In nearly all other communities, individual packs contain scouts from a single elementary school to ensure high quality programming, Sugar said.
