Council approves money for Welcome Center

Zionsville — A Welcome Center that was originally just planned for Christmas in the Village will now be open until April.

The Zionsville Town Council approved by a vote of 5 to 2 to re-appropriate $6,000 to fund the Welcome Center. Council President Tim Haak and Councilor Steve Mundy voted against the measure.

Town Manager Ed Mitro said the money comes from the Food and Beverage Fund.

“It is not additional money,” he said. “It is just shifting from one line item to another.”
