Fire damages garage

Zionsville —

No one was injured when a garage burned Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 615 Sugarbush Dr.

The Boone County 911 Center received a 2:05 p.m. call from Constance McLain reporting her garage was on fire, and firefighters were dispatched from Zionsville and Carmel fire departments to the location, where smoke could be seen from miles away.

The first arriving Zionsville firefighters reported heavy fire from the attached garage. The firefighters had the blaze under control within 20 minutes. Fire damage was isolated to the garage, with smoke and heat damage throughout the home. Preliminary damage is estimated at $50,000 for the structure and its contents.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental, with the origin being the riding lawnmower.
