Patrons of Brown's on Main will have to walk a few blocks farther to visit with Dave and Kathy Brown.
The couple has sold the building to Mike Cole, owner of Greek's Pizzeria. The Browns are refocusing their efforts on their 315 N. Main St. location.
"I've been in retail for 42 years and, for the most part, I've worked seven days a week all that time," Dave Brown said. "After a lot of deliberation, we decided this is a good time to simplify our lives and do the things we want to do."
Brown's has had a location on Main Street for 11 years, and Brown said the decision was difficult at first.
"It was very difficult during the beginning when Mike (Cole) was asking about the building, because we had been totally, 100-percent happy," Brown said. "After some more discussions, we have no reservations whatsoever. We love to travel, and we want to get back to that.
"We couldn't be happier about who we're selling to. They've been a great addition to our town, and we know Mike will do good justice to the building."
Cole said the main reason he wanted to purchase the building is that he wants to invest in the community more.
