Boone County hosted some ropin’, ridin’ and wrestlin’ action Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds.
The annual Boone County Rodeo Bash, complete with rodeo clown, featured bareback riding, calf roping and girls breakaway roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing/pole bending and bull riding. Participants from throughout the state joined local participants in the two-day event. Proceeds from the rodeo support The Arc of Greater Boone County and the Indiana High School Rodeo Association. The Arc is an organization that “assists adults with disabilities and other special needs to achieve their maximum potential in partnership with the community.” The IHSRA is a nonprofit organization established to promote the sport of rodeo with Indiana high school youth; funds raised are used for scholarships and awards.
