WHITESTOWN -- A section of Whitestown Boulevard about a half-mile long will be widened to four lanes, with completion possible by the end of fall.
Drainage plans for the project were approved Monday, June 16, by the Boone County Drainage Board.
The improvement will include two more travel lanes in each direction, as well as turn lanes, from the entrance of West Haven Apartments to the western entrance of Stonegate.
The wider street is intended to improve safety, said Whitestown Town Manager Dax Norton, by making it easier for residents of Stonegate, West Haven and the Maple Grove subdivision to turn onto Whitestown Parkway.
There is no scheduled date for completion of the widening, Norton said.
