Senator speaks with Zionsville merchants

Zionsville — The Zionsville Chamber of Commerce sponsored the evening with U.S. Sen. Dan Coats, who spoke on a variety of issues facing congress including coming together to agree on a budget. Coats also answered a few questions from attendees.

“We want to bring visibility to the members of the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce,” said Julie Johns Cole, executive director of the chamber. “We want our state and federal officials to know what issues are important to our businesses and business owners.”

Kent Esra, owner of Cobblestone Grill, said he was happy to host the senator.

“We are always trying to promote Zionsville and the chamber as well,” said Esra, a chamber board member. “Anytime we can help out with an event like this is a good thing.”
