Quail Run plans expansion project

Zionsville — Quail Run Apartments is looking to add more than 140 new apartments to its complex.

Buckingham Companies, which owns Quail Run, has filed plans to build a total of six three-story buildings, adding 142 new apartments to the complex. A petition for development plan approval and a request for three variances, which may be granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals, has been filed with the town’s planning department.

According to the filing, three variances are being requested because three of the buildings will not meet the 25-foot rear yard set-back, the development will not provide the amount of parking required, and Quail Run is hoping to add signage on Oak Street.

John Cumming, senior vice president of development operations for Buckingham, said the filing is for updating and expanding the existing Quail Run apartments.

“The conceptual site plan calls for 142 additional units at Quail Run,” he said. “We are also going to do some remodeling and upgrading of the existing units there as well.”
