VIDEO: Bus crash injures 12

Boone County — Twelve people were taken to hospitals - six to Methodist and six to St. Vincent - after a school bus crashed and rolled over on northbound Interstate 65 in Boone County just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

The bus was from the Lafayette school system and crashed just south of the Whitestown Parkway interchange.

A witness said she saw the bus veering before it went off the road and went into the median and flipped at least one time. "It went completely over and then came to a stop," Lisa Stacey of Lafayette said. "My husband said, "Oh, no, oh, no,'."

At least one female vicitm suffered a head injury and was in critical condition.

Emergency personnel from Whitestown, Zionsville, Boone County, Pike Township and Indianapolis responded to the scene.

The accident closed northbound and southbound lanes of the highway Thursday.
