For the first time since the state began grading schools Zionsville earns straight As

Zionsville — Zionsville Community Schools has something to celebrate — all A’s.

The Indiana Department of Education unveiled its letter grades for more than 2,000 Indiana schools on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

“It is a combination of hard working students, hard working teachers and the needs for services aligned well with a school district that has high expectations,” said ZCS Superintendent Scott Robison. “The kids work hard. They get us to A’s in every school because of this overlap.”

Robison said the grade represents what he has known for a long time.

“We know that with our demographic and focus academically, we are going to get those kinds of good numbers, “ he said.

This is the third year the grades were given and the first year every school in ZCS earned an A. In 2011, every school except for Stonegate Elementary earned an A. Robison said Stonegate is a successful school, and the test scores and other factors was the reason the school received an A.
