---- — Fishers police arrested a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, man identified as a suspect in a string of Zionsville car break-ins last week.

Moses George Freelove was arrested Thursday, May 15, for theft, possession of a controlled substance, resisting law enforcement and possession of cocaine.

The arrest came after a brief pursuit along Interstate 69 and Binford Boulevard. According to the probable cause affidavit, three black males ran from the vehicle after it crashed into a tree at Fall Creek Road and Binford Boulevard. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Detective Shawn Looper detained Freelove, but the other subjects were not located.

Fishers Police Department Officer Kyle McFerran initially spotted the vehicle near 126th Street and Olio Road and noted it matched the description of a vehicle implicated in the fraudulent cashing of checks at Old National on 116th Street, the theft of a wallet in the area of 116th Street and Olio Road, two other thefts from vehicles, and the theft of a purse from a vehicle just moments earlier.

Zionsville Police Department Capt. Doug Gauthier said there were several vehicle break-ins last week around Zionsville, and the vehicle involved in the Fishers case matched the description of the vehicle they were trying to locate.
