The Zionsville Town Council may lend the SullivanMunce Cultural Center a helping hand.
Because the Patrick Henry Sullivan Museum faces a budget shortfall due to lack of revenue from the trust fund that keeps it going, the council will consider giving the museum $10,000 from the Food and Beverage Fund. The decision came during the council's Monday, June 2, meeting.
SullivanMunce Executive Director Cynthia Young and board President Kelly Masoncup had made a pitch to the council during its Tuesday morning, May 27, agenda-setting meeting.
Young said they did look at other options to help raise money.
"One of the ideas we tossed around was being a business incubator," she said. "As we looked through that, we realized that's not really part of our mission and didn't have the space, and any build-out would have cost more than what we could have brought in."
