Delaney's readies for Main Street

The face of Main Street is changing again.

Regional retailer Delaney’s Shoppes is set to open Aug. 15 in the former Lilly’s Boutique Gallery at 205 S. Main St.

“We are so excited,” said Delaney’s owner Mary Larson. “We think it’s going to be one of our best stores.”

While Delaney’s will be a newcomer to Main Street, Larson is not new to retailing. She started Delaney’s, which she named after her daughter, in May 2002, adding locations in Fishers, Noblesville and the Fashion Mall over the years.

She has always wanted to open a store in Zionsville, but was concerned about parking. When Zionsville put a parking lot on the former Shell gas station site and the Lilly’s spot opened up, the timing was right, she said.

Zionsville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julie Johns-Cole said that’s exactly the reason the town is doing a downtown study and parking analysis. Cole said firms will be interviewed this week.

“Zionsville continues to change and grow, and we want to be sure we can accommodate everyone,” Cole said.
