Owner hopes for a sweet life on Main Street

Kelly Evans was growing frustrated of people walking up and down Main Street but not venturing into her shop on East Oak Street.

The owner of Le Dolce Vita decided to do something about it and has partnered with Eagle Creek Coffee Co. Both restaurants will close Saturday, July 13, and Eagle Creek Coffee Co., 10 S. Main St., will reopen as Le Dolce Vita on Saturday, July 20.

“I used to stand and look out our window and see everyone go up and down Main Street, but not as many people would come down our side street,” Evans said. “It was really frustrating. To move onto Main Street is crucial for me. Zionsville has a lot of tourists, parades and foot traffic. This is a big step for me.”

Evans said she had been looking for a new location for the past year since her lease on her present location, 55 E. Oak St., is up in October.

“This is a perfect spot for me,” she said. “We are out of space at my restaurant, and this matches what I do and allows me to expand what I’m doing.”

Evans said she looked at several places on Main Street but didn’t find many spots that had a kitchen already built.

“Eagle Creek and I are competitors to a certain degree,” she said. “What better way to succeed than to combine our efforts and expand what we can do.”
