---- — Zionsville residents are mourning the loss of a local teen described as a friend to everyone. Rachael Leigh Fiege, 19, daughter of Richard and Angela Fiege, was pronounced dead Saturday, Aug. 24, from brain trauma after a fall in Bloomington, where she was set to study nursing at Indiana University. Alex Stewart, 18, Rachael's close friend and fellow 2013 Zionsville Community High School graduate, said she'd known Rachael for quite a few years and hung out with her in high school and a little bit when they were younger. She said Rachael was easy to talk to, and everyone felt comfortable around her. "I think of a fun, lovely, goofy person that could turn any situation into a fun and carefree time," Stewart said. "We could be doing nothing and it would be a fun time just laughing and joking about the littlest things." She said they often would simply drive around or sit around and talk, or go to the playground and "just do carefree stuff." "It was easy like that," Stewart said, describing a time when the two friends met up in Florida and spent six hours riding a bus around an island. At school, according to Stewart, Rachael helped her and other students with math. "She was a really good student," Stewart said. "I always had math class with her, and English class."
