Zionsville Community Schools and Zionsville Police Department administrators will revisit emergency safety plans this week, after a Friday, Dec. 14, shooting that killed 20 students and six teachers at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.
Jim Uland, ZCS school safety specialist coordinator, said a review of the emergency plans and procedures is discussed at the beginning of each year, but with the recent events, the school district wants to improve the plan in place immediately.
“School safety is No. 1, and we plan to continue to review plans and work closely with our community law enforcement agencies to make the schools as safe as possible,” Uland said.
