More than 375 volunteers who packed 100,000 meals as part of a joint effort of the Goddard School; Anson Group; the International Disaster Emergency Service, which supplied the food; and the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission that will get the food to Haiti and distribute it at food stations.
Randy Jones of IDES (in background, right) said the meals included packets of vitamins, soy for protein, rice and dehydrated vegetables for color, taste and vitamins. Each meal bag contains 13.8 ounces of food, rehydrated when boiling water is added, and feeds a family of six.
“Haiti has so many needs, but a big part of it is malnutrition,” said Anne Snivley, vice president of development for the mission, pictured talking with Jones.
