Miss Indiana parade graces Main Street

Zionsville — Zionsville’s Rachel Bazzell, Miss Duneland, in the Miss Indiana parade down Zionsville’s brick street Saturday, June 22. Bazzell won the swimsuit competition and was fourth runner-up in the competition that evening. She is 24 years old and is a graduate of Indiana University High School and Purdue University (with a degree in biology). She is working to obtain her masters of public health at the IU School of Medicine graduate program in Indianapolis. Bazzell’s talent is baton twirling and her platform is “Strike Out Cancer: Focusing on Prevention Education.” The pageant was moved to Zionsville in 2005, and next year’s event is set for June 18 to 24 at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center.
