Zionsville is finally catching up with the times, at least as it relates to stormwater management practices.
After adopting an ordinance in 2004 that established requirements for stormwater management, the Zionsville Town Council updated the ordinance during its Monday night, Dec. 2, meeting.
"It needed to be updated," said Gavin Merriman, stormwater program manager. "At the time it was adopted, it was fairly new and innovative, but there's been a lot of advances in various stormwater management practices."
Merriman said the town started looking at how other communities have adapted to the change in practices and what they have done with their ordinances.
Merriman said many of the changes were to the technical standards manual portion.
