The Zionsville Town Council will be one step closer, after its May meeting, to purchasing the PNC Bank property on Main Street.
The council discussed during its Monday morning, April 29, agenda-setting meeting spending $650,000 to buy the property, which includes the parking lot, at 390 S. Main St. The money would come from the town’s Rainy Day Fund, which has $1.657 million.
Councilwoman Susana Suarez asked if this was the money that would be the final cost of buying the property.
“We are working on coming to an agreement on the purchase agreement,” Councilman Steve Mundy said. “We are still negotiating, but this resolution will make the funds available so we don’t have to wait until another council meeting.”
