Haun: ‘I survived breast cancer and so can you’

After an experience with breast cancer, one Zionsville woman has made it her mission to help others.

Katie Haun is on the National Cancer Speakers Bureau and speaks at events with Stonecroft Ministry, an international Christian-based ministry, and is a motivational health speaker for Eli Lilly. She also has partnered with four medical doctors in the area who refer their patients to her so she can give them emotional support.

“Doctor’s don’t know the emotional side of cancer, which is something I can help with,” Haun said. “I am here to help individuals find ways to try to prevent cancer and also help them become more aware.”

Haun was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 at the age of 46. Although many doctors recommend women get annual mammograms starting at age 50, she decided to get ahead of the game and go for her yearly test starting at age 32.
