A lot of discussion led to no action on the Ford Road bridge project Tuesday morning, Oct. 9, at the Boone County Council meeting.
Boone County Commissioner Charles Eaton came to request the council place $500,000 back in the bridge fund to continue with the project.
The council had previously voted 4-2 to withhold $294,500 from the bridge project, effectively halting it, until they could come to an agreement with the Zionsville Town Council and the commissioners on a plan to replace the aging bridge.
“I had really hoped this summer, when we made the decision to defund, we’d be done with it,” said Councilman David Rodgers, adding that it will cost future community members a “tremendous amount” of money to deal with this 75-year-old bridge if it is installed.
