The Zionsville Economic Development Commission, at its meeting Wednesday, July 24, selected TADI/Business Districts Inc. to conduct a downtown market study and parking analysis.
The TADI/BDI partnership melds a company with a traffic analysis and design emphasis and one with expertise in market analysis and business district planning, a combination the commissioners believe is a good fit for their needs. Those needs include more focus on marketing and economic development, at this juncture, than on parking, they said.
“We need to get people here and then worry about parking,” said Commissioner Tammy Kelley.
Commissioner Carol Marquiss said a marketing piece to give potential new business owners would show Zionsville means business and has “got it together.”
“You need a marketing plan so you know what you want to accomplish, what you want to be,” said Bryan Brackemyre, executive director of the Boone County Economic Development Corp.
The commissioners interviewed three alliances prior to making their decision: TADI/Business Districts Inc., Development Concepts Inc./Walker Parking Consultants and Houseal Lavigne/VS Engineering.
