The ordinance rezoning the Pittman property to be a planned unit development has one more hurdle to clear.
The Zionsville Town Council will consider adopting the PUD ordinance to rezone the roughly 62 acres on the southwest corner of Sycamore Street and Michigan Road. The council discussed the ordinance during its agenda-setting meeting Monday morning, July 29.
If approved, the property, owned by Pittman Partners LLC, will be home to The Farm, a mixed-use development featuring restaurants, multi-family residential, single family residential and a specialty grocery store.
“This matter was heard at the plan commission, which gave the project a unanimous recommendation for approval,” said Town Manager Ed Mitro. “This will not be a public hearing, because it was a public hearing at the plan commission.”
Mitro said Wayne DeLong, director of planning and economic development, and Pittman Partners LLC will attend the meeting to answer any questions.
“This only sets up the framework for what comes next,” Mitro said. “They would still have to come back with anything they want to develop with development plans that would have to be approved.”
Mitro said the council is required by state statute to act on the matter within 90 days but does not have to take action Monday.
