Meijer is able to break ground in Anson after receiving a release for foundation construction from the state.
John Erickson, senior public information officer for the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the building commission, said Thursday morning, May 2, that the state has given the release, “which means they can get started on it.”
Deb Luzier, Whitestown planning director, said the retailer filed a building plan with the state building commission for approval.
“They must review all new commercial and industrial building,” she said. “It’s a standard procedure. Once that gets approved at the state level, our office will issue the building permits.”
Luzier said the plans are for a nearly 200,000-square-foot store and gas station. The proposed store would be at 6650 Whitestown Parkway.
