Whitestown to look at traffic impact fees

The Whitestown Town Council unanimously voted Tuesday night, Aug. 13, to begin the process of looking into traffic impact fees. Dan Cutshaw, of GRW Engineering, who provides engineering services to the town, said conducting a traffic impact fee study was part of the transportation plan, which was approved in June. "What the fee does is creates a per-trip charge to a developer," Cutshaw said. "In a typical single family residence, one resident will have 10 trips per day. The money is then used for capacity improvements as a result of that development."
