ZPD chief wants to add lieutenants

The Zionsville Police Department could promote two individuals to lieutenant next year.

Zionsville Police Chief Rob Knox said he has wanted to add the position back to the department since he took over more than one year ago.

“From the very beginning, I have always thought that we were a little middle management shy,” Knox said. “I felt that we were good in upper management and the lower level, but always thought we needed more middle management, which is why I want to bring back the position.”

The Zionsville Board of Police Commissioners will discuss the lieutenant positions during its Monday morning, Nov. 26, meeting.

See Wednesday's paper for the full story.
