— A new partnership will give seniors a local place to gather.

Boone County Senior Services Inc. has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville to offer several classes and activities.

Tim Fretz, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Zionsville, said the club is perfect for this type of programming.

“Our club is not used during the day when kids are at school so it becomes a perfect facility to provide a variety of activities from art classes to exercise programs,” he said. “We look forward to providing the community residents a local opportunity for senior winter games.”

Classes offered at the Boys and Girls Club, 1575 Mulberry St., include an art class and a physical fitness class.

The art class will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Open card playing will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday. Fun and Fit for 50 Plus Fitness Class will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Fretz said the partnership began when local resident Tom Melind was searching for a place in Zionsville for senior programs.
