— Results from a Phase II environmental study are forcing more work to be done on Dow Chemical land that the town and school system wants to buy.

The Redevelopment Commission approved during its meeting Monday night, Jan. 14, to have August Mack Environmental conduct an additional five borings near the intersection of Dahlia Drive and 106th Street. August Mack conducted 25 borings throughout the site as part of the subsurface investigation.

“We received some of the lab results, and the good news is that the large majority of the borings came back in good shape,” Town Attorney Andy Buroker said. “There was one area that had a questionable return; so, they need to get closer to find out what is at that intersection.”
