Father Christmas returns to light the tree Nov. 23

The month of Christmas in Zionsville will begin on Friday, Nov. 23 with a few events before the “infamous” tree lighting on Main Street.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the Brick Street Quartet will be performing live at Main and Oak streets. Then at 5:30 p.m., Zionsville resident Amy Lacy will read her book “Where is Christmas?” to children at Black Dog Books, 115 S. Main St. From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Robert Goodman Jewelers, 106 N. Main St., will have storybook readings.

Father Christmas will arrive at 6 p.m. and will lead a procession on Main Street to the tree, which will sit at Oak and Main streets throughout the holiday season. Father Christmas will lead a tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

Live music will continue throughout the evening and horse drawn wagon rides will go through the village from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Rides will start and end in front of Robert Goodman Jewelers.
